I have worked in Swan Island for over 10 years. Hot Rice has been a go to of mine for lunch every month of every year that I have been here. The new owners have done an amazing job revamping the business and are consistent with the product they put out. I have never been disappointed by their portion size or the quality of their food. It has always been exactly what I expected. I have recommended this restaurant to our drivers over all the years as well. I haven't heard anything negative yet.

The top favorites that I would recommend based on word of mouth would be the Hot and Spicy One, the Beef and/or Shrimp One and of course I love their chicken. It is always top quality and a good amount. I also appreciate that they do not put a lot of sauce all over the chicken, sometimes my stomach can't handle so much sauce and it allows me to control that, also sometimes I like more spice then teriyaki, so i like instead they have the sauce in jars you can add to your plate while you are there or take to go in little containers, along with the soy sauce, etc...They have it all, just ask!!

I have eaten here daily some months, and then went only a couple times a month, but I always come to Hot Rice, because I know that I won't be disappointed.

I appreciate this business and the hard working people that have dedicated themselves to our little part of the world we call Swan Island.

Came in, lady asked me twice for a 5 star review… before I paid and before I even got my food
Tried the chicken katsu, it was way to burnt but the chicken was undercooked 100% unedible

Amazing, healthy food that is made with absolutely NO MSG or GMO’s. The Japanese Curry on Tuesday is my absolute favorite meal here, and the pot stickers are my appetizer of choice. All of their sauces are homemade. Prices are very reasonable. Another total plus is that the portion sizes are well above average. Overall, this family owned and run business is a gem, in a city full of Asian restaurants that are hit and miss.

I have been coming here for lunch for years. The food is always delicious and they have great specials for lunch. The staff is friendly and service is fast. Highly recommended!

The food is pretty good, I really would recommend the beef teriyaki and the shrimp is decent. But it's almost always dirty and there is a problem with bugs at this establishment. If the bug problem was taken care of, I would give it 4 stars but I feel like giving 3 stars even though I killed 3 bugs while eating is good enough

Not really impressed. The yakisoba was mushy and sticky but the shrimp was good. Spring rolls were crispy but sorta greasy and basic. Teriyaki chicken was decent and rice was fine. Not sure I’ll be back as there are other spots much better for the same price.

I recently ate at this local teriyaki restaurant for lunch and had a great experience. The teriyaki chicken was cooked to perfection, with tender, juicy meat and a perfect blend of sweet and savory sauce. Their spicy sauce is also really tasty! The service was also great!. Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to returning to try their other dishes.
