Atmosphere was gorgeous. We sat in the outdoor beer garden which was absolutely perfect.

Selection of Belgian Beers was very nice. Nothing unique, but none of the top dogs were missing.

Food was fine. The Chicken Stew Waffle was a nice waffle and a fine stew, but served on top ahead of time meant the stew thoroughly soaked through the waffle and made the classic "light crispy" more "soft and mushy".

Update 2024: Their backyard garden is currently under construction but you can see the same appeal from when I visited a year ago.
However, this time the food was not as stellar as I remembered! The service was good but we found some expected pieces in our food (we did get a free new dish though!) The delicious fries that I remember were not as tasty as I recalled.

Ambiance (5/5): The backyard garden is gorgeous with a floral setting and Manneken Pis statue in the back. The restaurant is tucked away from outside noise. The inside dining is ornate and welcoming. The street side outdoor dining is barebones and would suggest indoors or garden seating! The noise was low and provided a very cute and intimate dining experience!
Service (5/5): The hostess was welcoming and the wait staff are extremely friendly and quick to provide help.
Food:
Belgian Cheese Croquettes (4/5): The dish comes with a count of 4. I was a fan of the crunchy outer of the croquettes and it complemented well with the unique peppercorn sauce. While the flavor was good, it relied on the sauce to really complete the bite.
Carbonnade Flamande (4/5): The beef stew was delicious and had great depth to each bite! The portioning was plentiful and also came with the frites. The chunks of beef broke apart easily but was kind of dry in different bites and required it to soak in the stew before eating.
Pomme Frites (6/5): The fries ever were out of this world AMAZING. The crunch was phenomenal and had the perfect saltiness along with a complementary triple dipping sauce (ketchup, mayo, and spicy mayo).
I definitely plan on dining here again!!

Loved our dining experience here! Everyone was so friendly. The covered back patio seating was heated and had a romantic, European feel. Their warm pretzel is my favorite in the city! It’s soft and salted to perfection, and the cheese sauce is bomb. Not sure whether to dunk my pretzel in it or bathe in it ? The brussel sprouts were a hit — the right amount of crispiness and a good hint of maple. The mocktails were a really nice compliment to the meal. Try the caper mayo with your fries (fries come with most entrées). It’s the closest thing I’ve had to fry sauce on the east coast and it’s amazing. The fries here are really stellar! The Chicken Vol Au Vent is like a chicken pot pie but disassembled — warm & creamy with tender chicken. We loved it! The B. Café Waffle was light, crunchy, and the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal.

Nice and cozy place to get a perfect brunch on weekends! Nice music, nice service and great food. I used to go often when living in the area and just came back few weeks ago and thank god nothing has changed!!! Absolutely recommended the Croque monsier…coffee and cocktails are good too!!! Enjoy

I love this place - it has all the qualities of a perfect restaurant without all of the crowds, over-priced food and over-hype. The food is DELICIOUS and well priced. The space is beautiful, especially the backyard, and they have a nice outdoor seating area out front. Beautiful bar area. And we’re always able to get a reservation, even for Mother’s Day, on which I was nervous about finding a table since so many places book out. The staff here is also always friendly and accommodating. This has to be one of the most underrated restaurants on the UES.

Excellent, excellent lunch place. Pleasant, covered patio in the back. My omelette was perfection and the french fries were yummy- crispy, very generous portion. Hubby had a steak sandwich and he loved it. Baguette bread fresh, meat tender. But the best part was the service. They couldn’t have been more pleasant or professional. It was our first time, but I guarantee it will not be our last. Delightful.
