Eine Mischung aus Imbiss und Restaurant: Du bestellst vorne an der Theke und wirst aufgerufen, wenn dein Essen fertig ist. Das Fleisch war Klasse und mengenmäßig mehr als ausreichend. Preis-Leistung: Top!
Dazu war die gesamte Mannschaft überaus freundlich.
Den Stern Abzug gibt es leider für das ganze Einweggedöns, im Zeitalter von Plastikmüll ein grundsätzliches NoGo.

My dad and I were in the mood for some bbq and we settled to try The Goodland BBQ. It smelled delicious as we entered. I ordered the brisket and it was good, the meat was a bit cold, and my dad ordered the ribs. It was an enjoyable meal, I would come back again!

We've been eating at Goodland BBQ since they opened. The quality has consistently elevated over time.

They excel with the plates, especially the brisket, which is fork tender with a very nice smoky flavor. It deserves to be eaten on its own without a sandwich. The pulled pork is very good as well. I like the addition of the honey mustard sauce which is a good match for the pulled pork.

The sides are fine, potato salad and chili beans are good. As a native Southerner, I like greens and mac n' cheese with barbecue but you rarely find that in California barbecue places, so no knock there. Nice to have iced tea, which I believe is a new addition.

I recommend skipping the sandwich and upgrading to a plate. The brisket and pulled pork are among the best I've had in California in my 12 years of living here.

I have been to goodland a few time and tried two different plates !the second time I ordered the beef ribs with the air of potato salad and beans ! The ribs were mouth watering good as well as the potato salad ! The meal was great! I have went and took my wife to try out the ribs that she’s been wanting for a great wile but when we got there the cashier said that they were all out of ribs! ( it was only around 1:30 pm) so we left! Today 1/25/25 I made sure to call prior to make sure if the had beef ribs and the guy said yes , so a hour later driving from down town s.b we got there like 12:30 and the same female cashier walked up and I asked her if the had beef ribs and she had a look like she don’t know and the cook said that they only had one plate order left ! I guess she thought that it was funny , because she laughed about it and it really wasn’t funny to me to drive all that way as exspensive has is and to be disappointed again about them not having bbq ribs . What kind of bbq joint don’t sell bbq ribs or are always short of them a 2hours of opening? ( to me it sound like they can’t afford the beef and business is not going that well but in any case it not good for business period! So as far as I would have to say I will not recommend this restaurant to any of my family or Freind if that’s the kind of business that there going to have in the future! As much as the food cost , they can at least have bbq beef ribs and never be short on supply!!

I got a one meat plate with brisket, potato salad, and coleslaw. Brisket was nice, tender, and even further elevated by their tangy barbecue sauce. Potato salad’s a classic, super hard to get that wrong and Goodland’s is no exception. However, the coleslaw had an off-putting bitter aftertaste; I did not finish it. However, I paid $19 after taxes for just this meal. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t really eat barbecue too often or the “Santa Barbara tax”, but that seems a bit steep. Good meat, bad coleslaw, kinda pricey, decent overall.

Since you asked for more feedback...
The pros: I had no problem with the service. Seems like it was a family operated business, and the food came out quick. Everyone seemed nice. The smoke & flavor on the meat was tasty, no complaints there.

Cons:
- The rest of the food was not enjoyable. I ordered the tri-tip and brisket with 2 sides. The brisket was half fat, half meat. I know brisket can be a fatty cut, but I also know your protein is sold by the pound, so it's disappointing that literally half the slice was a chuck of solid fat. Not mixed in marbling, but side by side down the middle, half meat and fat. I've seen pictures of other people's serving, and it doesn't seem like that is your normal standard.

- The beer tap was obviously having issues as it was being poured. It was foaming like crazy, but eventually it calmed down and I received my beer. For whatever reason it was flat in a couple minutes.

- The two sides I ordered were pineapple coleslaw and potato salad. I definitely didn't receive pineapple coleslaw, rather some regular coleslaw. I understand that there are different ways of making both of those dishes, but as many others have stated in their reviews, they both tasted like they lacked any seasoning whatsoever. I'm a gabacho from the Midwest, so I've seen some BLAND food, but I had a hard time understanding this approach to these recipes.

I don't believe in wasting food, especially after I've paid $30 for one plate and 1 drink, but as I was trying to finish the mayonnaise dressed potatoes with pieces of leftover fat and washing it down with a flat beer, I found myself very disappointed with the food experience. I decided not to finish it.

Ordered pick-up. The lady was so sweet and helpful! I ordered the 3 meat plate; hot link, brisket and pork belly! Everything was so good. Their Mac and cheese is fireeeeeee (meaning incredibly good) and i usually don’t even like Mac and cheese from restaurants because I’m super particular. My husband said the burger was good too.
